3D scanning

We capture existing parts and mounting surfaces as accurate 3D data — the starting point for parts that fit perfectly the first time.

01Overview

Overview

Scanning removes guesswork when a new composite part has to fit an existing vehicle, machine or assembly. The scan data becomes the reference for design, tooling and inspection.

Scanning is also used to compare finished parts with the design geometry.

02Process

3D Scanning

  1. Step 01

    Capture

The part or mounting area is scanned.

  2. Step 02

    Processing

Scan data is cleaned and aligned into a usable mesh.

  3. Step 03

    Modeling

The mesh is used as a reference for CAD design or inspection.

03Applications

Applications

  • Fitment of new parts to existing vehicles or machines
  • Reverse engineering of existing components
  • Comparing produced parts with the design
  • Digitizing prototypes and master models
